About Dr. O'Neill

Dr. O’Neill is a licensed clinical and forensic psychologist specializing in risk assessment, complex psychological evaluation, and treatment planning within correctional and forensic settings. With extensive experience in violence risk assessment, neuropsychological screening, she brings a clinically rigorous and ethically grounded approach to high-stakes mental health care.

CAREER EXPERIENCE

2021 - Present

California Department of Corrections

Forensic Psychologist

  • Conduct comprehensive violence risk and sexual offense recidivism assessments for incarcerated people with determinate and indeterminate life sentences for use in their parole eligibility hearings.

2014 - 2021

San Quentin State Prison

Psychologist

  • Provide psycho-diagnostic assessments and neurological screeners

  • Provide psychological assessments for gender affirming surgery procedures

  • Supervise doctoral interns through weekly individual supervision and documentation review

  • Prepare and present didactic trainings and participate in weekly comprehensive case conceptualization presentations

  • Served as the coordinator of the Developmental Disability Program (DDP) by providing assessments and assigning necessary adaptive supports for the incarcerated person

  • Provide evaluation, intervention, and treatment to incarcerated persons in mental health crisis. Each encounter consisted of an extensive clinical interview and suicide risk evaluation with a safety planning component

  • Plan, organize, and implement individualized treatment plans for a diverse population as part of a multidisciplinary team
