CAREER EXPERIENCE

2023 - Present

California Department of Corrections

Staff Clinical Psychologist

  • Conduct personalized treatment plans for patients in the enhanced outpatient program (EOP).

  • A caseload of 120-plus patients treated at the EOP level of care.  

  • Facilitate interdisciplinary treatment team meetings and develop personalized treatment goals.

  • Complete suicide risk evaluations for emergent/urgent referrals. Also, routine suicide risk assessments after a change in the level of care.

  • Trainer for the Emergency Medical Response Treatment Team. Present an emergency response protocol and evaluate staff’s ability to respond to emergency treatment.

  • Evaluate the patient’s criminal offense within the institution and assess the contribution of mental health toward rule violations.

  • Utilize trauma-informed therapy with adults experiencing PTSD symptomology.

  • Administer standardized and nonstandardized intelligence and mental abilities tests for adults with complex medical conditions.

Forensic Psychologist

  • Facilitate trauma-informed psychoeducational and skill-based classes for Trauma-Informed Unit Programming in the Youth Detention Facility (YDF). Conduct other forensic assessments, including mental health diversion, competency to stand trial, and juvenile sex offender risk assessments.

  • Complete outpatient sex offender assessment and treatment for juveniles and adults.

  • Provide group and individual therapy. Conduct Transfer hearing for Juveniles in California (According to WIC 707)

  • Complete forensic evaluations, which could include a combination of Juvenile Court referrals and trauma assessments for the Juvenile Trauma Response Court (Department 90), and provide feedback to a multidisciplinary team.

  • Conducted assessments for youth as requested by the Court or Probation Office for a variety of

  • referral reasons.

  • Provided the court with reports detailing findings and recommendations for placement
